About The Artist

Anthoula Medenas is a Greek-American artist whose work is shaped by memory, identity, and belonging.

Working within a contemporary figurative and abstract framework, Anthoula creates otherworldly landscapes and forms that reflect internal states rather than literal environments. Her work invites viewers to feel the painting before attempting to understand it, allowing meaning to emerge through sensation rather than explanation.

High contrast in tone and color is central to her practice, as is the use of paired forms. These relationships create connection and allow multiple experiences to exist simultaneously.

Born and raised in Southern California, Anthoula earned her BFA in Drawing and Painting and BA in Women and Gender Studies from California State University, Fullerton. Her work has been exhibited with Sab Gallery, Two Face Gallery, and The Lab Art Collective.

Alongside her fine art practice, Anthoula works as a photographer and designer, offering portrait sessions, lifestyle and editorial photography, brand illustration, apparel and jewelry design, as well as content creation and visual strategy for fashion and wellness brands. Through her multidisciplinary approach, she builds cohesive visual narratives that bridge art, commerce, and storytelling.
